A Year Full of Seasons

2013 has been a year full of seasons. Whether it has been the best year of your life or the worst, there is always, always something to be thankful for. It can be easy to forget the good things in bad situations and experiences. When my best friend, Julia, went home to her Father in Heaven back in August, I thought, “Well, crap.” I said and thought some other words when I first found out, but I was in total shock. I never questioned God, nor stopped believing in the one who brought such a beautiful human to this Earth. It never crossed my mind. Julia loved Jesus. She loved life and lived so vibrantly. Why did she live life like that? Well, because she had Jesus in her life. She had a solid relationship with Jesus that it was shown by the way she interacted with people, the things she did, and the way she loved others. She was not perfect, like any other believer, she had struggles and obstacles. We were able to share and pray with each other what those struggles were and I am thankful that we were able to do that. I am extremely thankful for the friendship we shared over the years. I am thankful for what I have learned from her throughout the years and what I am constantly learning from her still. I am thankful for being able to have this faith in God even when I don’t understand the mysterious things He does.

So when things happen in your life, what do you turn to or who do you turn to? As this year is coming to an end, I challenge you to find the good in the bad-even when it is the hardest, because it will be. I challenge to you have a faith greater than any of your fears. I challenge you to remind yourself each day that joy will come in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

I know that no matter what, I will always turn to the one who gave His life.

Jesus.
